-
1932After a grueling climb on mules and on foot, the members of Ski Club Chile made a genuine discovery on the slopes of Cerro Colorado. It was here that the Club's precursor, Francisco “Pancho” Guerrero, gave it the name Farellones, which would later become the first mountain village.
-
1935By 1935 the first refuge in Farellones was built.
-
1941Since 1941 the Farellones Ski Resort has served every snow lover. By 1948, Farellones was a true mountain village, with stone houses reminiscent of the chalets of Switzerland and Bariloche, roots it keeps to this day.

-
1948Today, Farellones has become the heart of the Tres Valles and, as a pioneer, keeps the entire history of the sport tied to the mystique of the mountains. It still offers skiing and stands out for its non-traditional activities, a large terrace with unmatched views and welcoming restaurants.
-
1953El Colorado Ski Resort opened the double chairlift that unlocked a wide skiable area across the entire western slope of the cone. Today the number of skiers who visit and its installed capacity to meet that demand are the result of the steady, consistent growth it has sustained since its beginnings.

1953The pioneers left a lasting mark on our El Colorado / Farellones Ski Resort. Their vision and enthusiasm have inspired generations of skiers who still hear the mystical call of the white slopes so close to Santiago. That is why in 2012 a lift bearing their name was opened, clearing the way to new runs in the Valle Olímpico.
