SAFETY RULES

THE SAFETY RULES, “CONDUCT OF SKIERS, SNOWBOARDERS AND VISITORS” INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:

.- Each user of the pistes, lifts and recreational areas of Ski Center El Colorado/Farellones, is obliged to respect lift and piste signage, complying with the rules stated in the Safety Bylaw of the Municipality of Lo Barnechea, responsible for the Centro de Cordillera de Lo Barnechea, and in the Internal Safety Bylaw as stated by ANDACOR S.A., in the interests of the physical safety of sportspeople and visitors. Violation of these bylaws will result in the confiscation of lift tickets, police intervention, and prosecution.

.- The skier and snowboarder must be aware of and understand the risks and dangers inherent in the sport and accept full responsibility for any accidents, injury and damage to property, including to the ski center and/or other users.

.- It is prohibited to access ungroomed slopes due to the inherent danger in uneven surfaces that have not been machine-groomed. Skiers and snowboarders who go off-piste, including areas out of bounds, accessing terrain which has not been groomed, marked or signposted, do so at their own risk and responsibility. Areas of the ski center signposted as cliffs and/or avalanche risk are also considered “off-piste” and entry is completely prohibited. In the event of a search or rescue operation being necessary, the skier/snowboarder will bear the costs of that operation.

.- Accessing and using the terrain park “Snowpark” and the Tubing facilities is risky. The user assumes responsibility for any such risks and potential accidents. The user is responsible for any injury or damage to person or property to him/herself and other parties.

.- Entry to the pistes is only permitted with a valid ticket, which must be shown on request by ski center staff. Pistes can only be accessed with skis or snowboard either clipped or strapped on, or being carried. Skis and snowboards must have brakes or safety leashes to avoid runaway skis or boards. Pedestrians are prohibited from entering or walking on the pistes. The use of sleds, toboggans, inner tubes and other inflatables, bicycles, canoes, kayaks or other items for sliding on as well as kites, hang gliders, parachutes or any motorized vehicle is prohibited.

.- For their own safety, each skier must use the correct slopes for their level of ability. It is strictly prohibited to cross boundaries marked Peligro No Pasar, Peligro Avalancha, Peligro Precipicio, Cerrado No Pasar and Pista Cerrada.

.- On entering a piste or restarting a descent, the user must yield to moving skiers and snowboarders. Do not stop where you block paths or are not clearly visible from above. If you must stop, move to the sides of the pistes and be aware of skiers above or behind you.

.- Ski or snowboard in control at all times. Stay clear of fences, pylons and towers. Unmarked obstacles may also be on the slopes. Always exercise caution and vigilance.

.- The user in front of/below you on the slopes always has right of way. You must avoid any form of collision, knocking or destabilizing them. In the case of any collision which results in any kind of injury, both parties must stay at the site of the accident until security personnel has arrived and taken details. Both users must offer their information as requested by security and swap contact details with each other.

.- Do not ski or board on lift tracks or near the pylons. Avoid snowmaking machines, signposts, barriers and cordons that indicate boundaries, as well as all machinery whether stationary or in motion. Do not cross pistes which are being used for training, competitions or classes.

.- It is strictly prohibited to remove, move, alter or damage any security elements including nets, padding, ropes, beacons, canvas, signs, flags, etc. These are erected to indicate obstacles or danger and minimize accidents and must not be interfered with. It is your obligation to stay clear of them, and of the zones they indicate.

.- WEARING A HELMET is strongly recommended in all ski areas and particularly in the terrain park.

.- Snowboards must have a safety leash. This will be checked before accessing lifts.
